East Marmara European Union Business Development Center (ABIGEM) was founded in 2002 by European Commission and Turkish Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities (TOBB) under the EU’s MEDA program. The aim was to increase SME’s growth, competitiveness and employment in the region and therefore Turkey’s.
In 2004, ABIGEM’s Gebze office was opened in addition to Kocaeli headquarter office that carries out training and consulting services.
Gebze office began its activities under the brand ABIGEM Technopark after the completion of rapid replication technologies and INVESTMENTS on R&D issues.
With the end of the EU project in 2006, Kocaeli ABIGEM Inc. was established with partnership of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Düzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkish Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce and Bolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In 2010, ABIGEM was changed its company name ABIGEM Inc. to ABIGEM East Marmara Inc.
East Marmara ABIGEM’s shareholding structure is composed of institutions that are determinant of the region's economic structure. With the guidance and support of our partners, we offer solutions to the companies’ ongoing business problems by creating inter-agency co-operation projects and services.
